Robin Propper admits rarely seen Rangers star has caught his eye in training

Having spent his whole career in the Netherlands, Robin Propper acknowledges that he will need some time to get used to playing for the Rangers. The 30-year-old former FC Twente captain led the Gers to a vital 1-0 victory over Dundee United on Sunday at Tannadice. Propper thinks he’s developing a solid rapport with John Souttar while he adjusts to the demands of competing in Glasgow’s goldfish bowl. The centre-back has also been delighted by the quality of his colleagues and admits Moroccan new boy Hamza Igamane has caught his attention in training. “You have to constantly improve,” he remarked. A partnership must develop over time. Since I’m new, I need to adjust to Scottish football, get to know the Rangers players, and the opponents.

“I’ve tried to do my best, but it takes some time. I believe there are times when people can clearly see our strong defensive and offensive capabilities. However, I believe we can do better, and I’ll do all in my power to make that happen. John, Jefte, and the guys in front of us are doing a great job, in my opinion. But we must constantly get better. The same is true further on, where more participants have joined the group. “Hamza Igamane has entered the game, and when we face him in training, he keeps us alert. That kind of thing gets you better. Hamza is an extremely skilled golfer who has demonstrated that already. Cyriel Dessers is as well, of course. In the end, it’s all about being competitive with each other so we can learn and get better.”
