Regarding the new contract, Dak Prescott has strong opinions.

Despite all of the contract talks, Dak Prescott is only thinking on the next season.

Jerry Jones, the general manager and owner of the Cowboys, stated on Wednesday that because “Dak is here,” there is “no more to do” to make sure the club is prepared for the Sept. 8 game against Cleveland.

There doesn’t seem to be much rush on either side if there is any chance of completing a deal before that deadline.

Regarding whether he will be the next player to sign a major contract with Dallas, Prescott replied, “Not really sure.” To be honest, it’s no longer my main emphasis. I wouldn’t say I was ever focused on it. The goal is to improve this team.

Prescott has always conducted himself a little differently, dating back to the time he was franchise tagged in 2020, despite the fact that some players might like the assurance that their future is certain heading into a contract year.

When asked if it had to be finished by the conclusion of the season, he replied, “I don’t need it.” “If it is or isn’t, I believe it says a lot. But, to be absolutely honest with you, it doesn’t really matter to me.

And if it isn’t, what does that tell Prescott?

“Just how people feel,” he said with a smile.
