Rangers are pushing hard to move players out the door so that space and money

In order to provide room and financial resources for Philippe Clement, Rangers are making a lot of effort to get players off the team. As time runs out, the manager will have his sights set on certain players, but he is aware that if he has the squad he desires, players like Ianis Hagi and Todd Cantwell will need to leave Ibrox. Cantwell appears to be on the verge of joining Blackburn Rovers, but Sky Sports has disclosed that there is still a significant obstacle to be cleared.

Rangers wait on Todd Cantwell to make Blackburn decision
A fee has reportedly been agreed with the Championship outfit who are happy to entertain either a permanent or loan move.

Unfortunately, Cantwell is yet to agree personal terms, an issue that Clement can do nothing about.

When asked earlier in the transfer window if failing to move players on like Cantwell would give him a headache, he said:

If they stay, I believe it will be very difficult to add to the squad. It’s related to money. It has to do with players receiving lower salaries in order to make a difference for the club both now and in the future. These players were paid huge salaries in the past. “I’m too busy with the squad to be interested in knowing which bids come in, so I truly don’t know. “Since I don’t decide how much money the club has, there’s no reason for me to be aware of every bid that is made for a player or how much it is worth.”

Rangers’ need to transfer depends on Cantwell’s departure. Selling Cantwell has become a top priority as Ianis Hagi appears to be staying at Rangers after making a strong social media case. Rangers had an excess of number 10s this time last summer; however, they don’t have enough and want a quick improvement in quality as well. Cantwell won’t be expected to earn a large fee, but he will save a significant amount of money on the payroll. Even though Cantwell and Hagi were informed they could leave Rangers earlier in the summer, out of all the players who have been linked recently, there hasn’t been any indication of an obvious playmaker.

It’s difficult to sell players, particularly if they are paid well and aren’t meeting their needs in terms of performance for money. In the event that Blackburn offers Todd Cantwell less than what he is now on, Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen will be hoping he can put his ego aside. There are too many burned bridges to consider a comeback.
