Why wolves must switch back to their 3-4-3 system.

Despite fielding a four-man defense, Wolves has now given up eight goals in their first two games. While their attacking players flourished during the preseason under this successful experiment, they are falling short when facing elite attackers, especially in wide areas.

Similar to many of his predecessors, O’Neil struggled when they tried to stray from what had previously worked, despite receiving accolades for how well-rounded Wolves appeared employing a three-at-the-back formation last season.

It might be a very lengthy season if O’Neill doesn’t deploy his tried-and-true 3-5-2 style in the next two games. Meanwhile, Wolves need to make a quality center-back acquisition in the remaining five days of the transfer window.
