Gary O’Neil was not impressed by the Wolves ace’s “clumsy” Chelsea performance.

On Sunday afternoon at Molineux, Wolves was crushed 6-2 by Chelsea, and one player did himself no favors with a “clumsy” performance.

After losing 2-0 to Arsenal, Wolves suffered their second setback of the Premier League season this past weekend at the hands of Chelsea.

During the first half, both teams used terrific attacking football to deliver blows on each other, making for a thrilling spectacle.

Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer scored in the first half, but Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen carried the Wolves flag in the closing third.

Supporters were hoping for a winning goal in the second half as the game was close at halftime, but instead of that, they were treated to an unforgivable surrender, as Gary O’Neil’s team gave up three goals in as many minutes before Joao Felix scored the sixth goal ten minutes from time.

The Wolves supporters chastised Rayan Ait-Nouri for his poor defensive performance, but he wasn’t the only player to have a challenging afternoon.

In Wolves’ 6-2 loss to Chelsea, Toti Gomes was deemed “clumsy.” O’Neil stuck with a back four against the Blues, but given how badly they were defeated, he may be regretting that choice today.

Once again, Yerson Mosquera was starting with Toti Gomes, who was less experienced, and the Portuguese international struggled. Though he provided the assist for Strand Larsen’s excellent finish, the 25-year-old’s defensive play was terribly poor.

He only made one tackle, prevailed in one aerial duel, lost two ground duels, and gave up possession six times in his ninety minutes on the field.

In their player ratings, 90min called the display “clumsy,” giving him a 3/10 for being “positionally inept” throughout the counter.

Toti was obviously not aided by those in front of him, as Noni Madueke’s speed in the right channel continuously exposed him, but the exhibition nevertheless revealed a significant flaw that O’Neil needed to address.
