Clement reveals Hamza Igamane set to step up Rangers debut bid

With manager Philippe Clement backing him to have an impact in his first season at Ibrox, Hamza Igamane will intensify his efforts to earn his Rangers debut in the near future.
After switching from AS Far in his own country earlier this summer, the Moroccan has not yet made an appearance for Clement’s team. Igamane signed a contract with Rangers that is considered long-term as Clement aims to restructure his team for the upcoming seasons.

Clement has put his faith in Cyriel Dessers to lead the line for most of the campaign as Danilo has been limited in his game time following his return from a serious knee injury. Now the Belgian is keen to see Igamane continue his progression towards first team involvement.

“It’s difficult to put a date on that because until now he only did things with the team in short space,” Clement said. “So we have a plan also on Sunday to work more on longer spaces. To have 11 against 11 with players from academy. So Hamza can do that part also. That’s his next step in his rehab now.

It’ll take a couple of weeks. However, I might bench him for five or ten minutes in the interim. That would be conceivable. However, he needs time to develop. However, everyone on the crew sees a lot of positive aspects about the small spaces. Time to display it in a larger area. “I’m sure he’s going to make an impact on this season also because he plays on a big space.” With his ability to score. Is he playing as a winger or a striker? Both positions are possible for it.”
