Best Dallas Cowboys player to wear jersey No. 15: Toni Fritsch
We take a look back at the greatest player to ever don the franchise’s number 15 today. Although the number doesn’t have as much history as other numbers, someone needs to take up the mantle of the 15.
Toni Fritsch, the second kicker on the list of the greatest players to wear their individual numbers, played four seasons for the Cowboys in the 1970s. The Austrian-born kicker’s career numbers with the Cowboys weren’t very noteworthy, but in 1975, he recorded his highest number of field goals made in a season (22).Fritsch’s best year came with the Houston Oilers in 1979 when he earned All-Pro honors and was a Pro Bowl selection. However, his start came with the Cowboys.
In an era when kicking wasn’t the science it is now, Fritsch made a name for himself and an imprint on the number 15 in Dallas.
