Ben White lists the Premier League players he has faced the most difficulty, including one who he continues to be made fun of years after.

Ben White, an Arsenal player, has spoken out about his most difficult opponents to date, including one “underrated” talent.

Years after the incident, Ben White has disclosed that he is still made fun of for getting completely destroyed by one of his hardest opponents in the Premier League.

Since moving to Arsenal from Brighton in 2021, White has solidified his standing as one of the top defenders in the Premier League.

In recent seasons, Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, has relied heavily on the adaptable 26-year-old, who can play right back as well as center defense.

He made 50 appearances in all competitions last season, tallying four goals, as Arsenal finished the Premier League as runners-up once more, this time to Manchester City.

He is also expected to have another successful season with the Gunners, having started their opening game of the new season at right-back in their 2-0 triumph over Wolves.

When asked to identify his hardest opponents in English football, White responded to a question on Sky Sports before of Arsenal’s next game against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The assessment he made was accurate; Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, who was destroyed by the winger in Brighton’s 3-2 loss to the Red Devils in 2020, was picked by Sky Sports viewers as his hardest opponent.

When asked if Rashford was really his most formidable opponent, White responded, “Yeah, one of them.” “He passed me three times, cut me three times, and then scored when I was at Brighton.

That was evidently all over Twitter, and I continue to see it now. “Obviously an amazing player.”

Sky Sports viewers also guessed Liverpool star Mo Salah and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, which surprised White.

Instead, he brought up Haaland’s teammates at City, Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish, saying that because of their different places on the field, he seldom faces Salah. White continued, “That’s the thing, it’s the goals that he scores,” in response to being pitted against Haaland. Against him, our two center backs have performed incredibly well.

But he’s an amazing player and he keeps doing what he’s doing.”

White went on to name Liverpool star Diogo Jota as another “really good” opponent, who he believes is underrated.

When you play against him, you don’t realise how quick and strong he is. He’s obviously technically really good as well,” added White.
