Bid for £24 million Wolves target submitted, and Arsenal replies to goalkeeper offer

According to reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers target received an offer for Arsenal. According to The Athletic, the Gunners have turned down Ajax’s loan request for backup goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

The permanent transfer is preferred by Arsenal, who are unwilling to allow the former England international to depart on a temporary basis. Nevertheless, Ajax are still hopeful about reaching a settlement and are open to taking further action.

For £24 million in 2021, Ramsdale left Sheffield United to join Arsenal. With just 82 goals allowed in 72 Premier League games, his first two seasons at the Emirates Stadium were a huge success.

However, David Raya was signed as the team’s new first choice, therefore Ramsdale only made six league appearances in the previous season.

Wolves may be relieved that Ajax’s proposal was turned down, since Gary O’Neil’s team has been connected to Ramsdale all summer.

As recently as last week, TalkSPORT revealed that Wanderers are considering signing the 26-year-old in an effort to bolster their goalkeeping staff.

According to the same source, Wolves are also interested in Sam Johnstone, the goalkeeper for Crystal Palace.

If they can get Johnstone or Ramsdale past the doors at Molineux, The Old Gold will entertain bids for their present shotstopper, Jose Sa.

Budget boosts for Wolves ahead of a potential Arsenal raid After star winger Pedro Neto was sold to Chelsea for £54 million, Wanderers now have more money to spend on transfers.

Although it is acknowledged that finding a replacement for Neto is the first priority, a portion of that may perhaps be utilized to purchase Ramsdale from Arsenal.
