Banned Kyiv VAR officials now suspended by Polish FA

Bartosz Frankowski and his countryman Tomasz Musial were scheduled to be part of the VAR crew for the Lublin match; however, after stealing a road sign, local police arrested them for intoxication and UEFA quickly substituted them. At Euro 2024, Frankowski, a VAR official, sincerely apologized and asked for pardon. But three months after receiving a harsh punishment from their national association, which labeled them both as hooligans, they will both be allowed to resume refereeing.

According to the Polish FA, “Two Ekstraklasa football referees who were scheduled to officiate Dynamo Kyiv vs. Rangers in the Champions League qualifying round gave explanations to the disciplinary committee about their hooligan behavior. “The committee decided to apply a preventive measure against them in the form of a ban on football competitions organised by the Polish Football Association with immediate effect for a period of 90 days.” Frankowski expressed his regret for the incident before to the hearing. Furthermore, it was foolish on a merely human level because I am aware that my regrettable actions will cloud years of diligent work. “I am fully aware that what transpired was careless and inappropriate on my side.

I sincerely apologise to the Polish FA and I also apologise to my family. I understand the consequences that await me, but I hope that I will be able to rehabilitate myself.”
