Rangers Champions League squad in full as omissions laid bare

After getting hurt against Hearts on the first day of the Scottish Premiership, the Colombian winger is expected to miss “four or five” weeks of play. Clement and his Rangers team have suffered a serious setback, particularly because Cortes was included in the Champions League roster and is now unable to make the trip to Lublin, Poland for the qualifying match. For the third round of the Champions League qualification tournament, Rangers has submitted their finalized roster, leaving out a few key players.

It should come as no surprise that Todd Cantwell, who asked to leave Rangers earlier in the summer, has not been included. Ianis Hagi is likewise out of the running, as Clement has stated that the Romanian playmaker, who returned from a La Liga loan at Alaves last season, is not in his plans.

One omission that may raise a few eyebrows is the new signing Clinton Nsiala not being selected for the squad.

The centre-back joined from AC Milan in the summer but has not been included in the squad while most recent addition Robin Propper has for tonight’s match.

Fellow summer signings Liam Kelly, Jefte, Connor Barron, Vaclav Cerny and Hamza Igamane have all been listed in the official squad document on the UEFA website.

Ross McCausland and Zak Lovelace feature on the Rangers’ player list B.
