Pedro Neto may be on Tottenham’s radar faster than Liverpool’s, and it could mean Liverpool loses out. Pedro Neto is a player who Tottenham values highly, according to Fabrizio Romano, who recently stated as much on a Playback livestream.
Romano also suggested that Tottenham might be prepared to step up their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
Liverpool is reportedly looking for at least one wide forward and possibly a second as well. This has been widely reported. The name Pedro Neto is sure to thrill many Liverpool supporters, as the Reds are thought to have him as a long-term target.
Throughout his career, Neto has been used on both wings and in the middle, and he has proven to be a dangerous threat from both flanks.
Although Neto is a superb ball crosser and dribbler when on the field, his horrific injury history will worry a lot of Liverpool supporters.
Just over 150 senior football games have been played by Neto, who is 24 years old. In his last three seasons, he has missed more than half of the season.
It is noteworthy that because Liverpool has a great attacking depth in their roster, Neto would probably not be required to play every game for Liverpool like he has been expected to at Wolves.
What would Neto’s price be? It’s anticipated that Wolves will ask for more than £60 million to sign Neto, setting a record for the west Midlands team.
Dominic Solanke, a former Red, is also much sought after by Tottenham, but Bournemouth is holding out for £65 million.
Tottenham’s signing of Solanke may also provide Liverpool the opportunity to pursue Neto, since Solanke has a sell-on clause that would allow Liverpool to keep 20% of any profits from his sale.
This summer, Spurs already made a significant investment in Archie Gray, a former Leeds teenager, and the addition of Neto and Solanke may prove to be too costly for the North London team.
Liverpool has not yet made a transfer window acquisition, but even if new players are supposedly on the way, they could need to step up their efforts if they want to avoid losing out on players like Neto.
