After Crystal Palace, Dave Edwards queries a “fabulous” Wolves player.

After being pleasantly pleased by a Wolves player after the Crystal Palace loss, Dave Edwards has asked the supporters about the player’s future.

Although Wolves’ loss against Palace Friday night in Annapolis was 3-1, there were still many things to be happy about.

Once more, Pedro Lima drew attention. In addition, Jorgen Strand Larsen, the new striker, impressed in his 20 minutes on the field. Winger Chiquinho also made an impression.

Since the players returned for preseason, Wolves have had a pretty good month. Goncalo Guedes is one man that people weren’t particularly expecting to see.

The winger did not travel to Marbella with the team, but he did fly out to Miami after Daniel Podence was injured. Edwards was impressed by him last night. He has played in both of Wolves’ US games to date. Dave Edwards calls Goncalo Guedes “fantastic” as he poses a question to Wolves supporters.

Gary O’Neil extended Guedes’ playing time against Palace last night. For Wanderers, he actually got the game underway. Hwang Hee-chan took his position just after the hour. Guedes looked smart at times and had a lot of energy for Wanderers.

Indeed, he is an extremely talented player. However, he hasn’t demonstrated that throughout his tenure at Wolves thus far. Rumor has it that Guedes wasn’t genuinely interested in moving at all.

However, he finds himself back with the team, and O’Neil has given him a good deal of involvement. Before Wolves left for Miami, he also played against Bristol City. He clearly impressed Edwards, who complimented the Portuguese attacker on X today. Now, he’s wondering if things could be about to get better for the £27.5 million guy.

He said: “@Wolves fans that watched the game last night…. How good was Guedes

“Is he changing opinions, jury still out or has the ship already sailed? His movement was fabulous and it just seems like Gary O’Neil has something special that makes players really want to play for him!”

Guedes’ ability to play for Wolves is undeniable, and he poses a real threat. Whether he stays will be up to him, though, as it seems likely that O’Neil would be willing to reintegrate Guedes if he so chooses.

At this point, it seems unlikely that we will see Guedes in a Wolves shirt next season, but who knows? O’Neil is obviously a great man to work with.

Guedes has previously worked for Bruno Lage and Julen Lopetegui, two supervisors who are “colder” than O’Neil. Maybe the Englishman is what he needs to finally pull off a successful move to Wolves.
