Through a private talk with his former Liverpool teammate, Mohamed Salah makes clear his position on Arne Slot.

As Mohamed Salah approaches the last year of his Liverpool contract, there is still uncertainty around the forward’s future with the team.

After Arne Slot succeeded Jurgen Klopp as manager, Mohamed Salah’s fondness for the Dutchman was revealed by former Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian. After Klopp’s nine-year reign, Slot, the former Feyenoord manager, took over as manager of the large team. Since the beginning of July, Slot has been adjusting to his new role, initially concentrating on players who are not playing in international matches.

Three weeks remain until the Premier League season begins, and important players like Salah are already back in training and excited about Slot’s impending arrival. Though he parted company with Liverpool this summer, Adrian stays in touch with many of his former teammates, including Salah and Kostas Tsimikas, who have gushed about Slot’s mentality.

Adrian revealed in an open conversation with The Athletic: “I talk to many of the team members, like Mo Salah and Kostas Tsimikas, virtually every day. They tell me they approve of it and that it shares the same philosophy as Jurgen. to play quickly, be direct, aggressive, bold, and push yourself.”

He added: “Liverpool’s squad is made for that. So the new coach will know how to adapt well to the players he has. And I wish him the best.”

The thumbs-up from Salah regarding Slot’s impact is particularly noteworthy for the Anfield faithful, especially amidst the swirling rumours about Salah’s future as he enters the last 12 months of his deal.

Over the past year, there has been interest in Salah from Saudi Arabia, and it was anticipated that Middle Eastern clubs would challenge Liverpool before the new season after Al-Ittihad’s colossal £150million bid for the forward was rejected last Summer

Liverpool are reportedly trying to persuade Salah, who has scored over 200 goals for the Reds, to extend his Anfield tenure beyond 2025. They do not want to sell Salah this summer – even if he refuses to commit to a new contract.

Club captain Virgil van Dijk and vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contracts also expire at the end of the season, and previous reports have suggested that securing all three players on new deals is a priority for the club’s hierarchy.
