Rangers to land £3m proft as Michael Beale signing gets set for loan-to-buy transfer
Rangers have opened the transfer window by sending players out to give up space and finances. Nils Koppen’s 14-point transfer strategy is in full swing, with Philippe Clement anticipating that his squad would be stronger in a week as the Champions League deadline approaches. The manager has recently cut a frustrated figure in terms of factors beyond his control and on the pitch, but Rangers have received some good financial news as Jose Cifuentes prepares for another move.
Jose Cifuentes was expected to be a Rangers star
The Ecuadorian international arrived to great acclaim from Michael Beale.
“There were two Russian teams who wanted to sign me. However, with the war that is going on there, it was something that could not be carried out because European teams are not allowed to receive money from Russian clubs at the moment I think.
“There was a team from the English Championship interested and a club from Turkey too.
“But it would have been a loan for five months which meant uprooting from family again after they had already had to adapt to Scotland, which would have been a problem.
“So I had to make the best decision for them and that’s why I’m here in Brazil.
It was a beautiful day when I made my Cruzeiro debut last week. “During my six months with Rangers, I never saw the sun. It was consistently chilly. But I am in good shape, so I should have no trouble adjusting to this place. “I prefer to play as an attacking midfielder, but I adjust my positioning depending on the team I am playing for.”
