Rangers ‘advance’ on Man Utd starlet, big exit route emerges, £6.5m striker alert, Celtic’s 55 line – Scottish transfers
With La Liga team Espanyol expressing interest in Aberdeen’s hotshot Bojan Miovski, a bidding battle may be about to begin. Sky Sports says that a Spanish club is reportedly willing to pay £6.5 million to gain the services of the North Macedonian, indicating that they have a genuine interest in the player. The 24-year-old striker, who led the Dons in goals scored the previous campaign with 16, had being pursued by a number of European teams, including Serie A team Genoa.
Bologna, who previously transacted with the Dons when they acquired Scotland international Lewis Ferguson in the summer of 2022, is also rumored to be considering a move for the forward. Meanwhile, as new manager Jimmy Thelin’s revamped team starts to take shape, Aberdeen is hoping to bolster their midfield by bringing in 19-year-old Nurudeen Abdulai this summer.
Philippe Clement is closing in on the signing Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mehbri, with reports claiming the club are in ‘advanced talks’ to bring the young midfielder to Glasgow on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old spent last season in Spain with La Liga outfit Sevilla on loan, however, he made just six appearances for the club and is now looking for more regular game time ahead of the new season. Rangers are hoping to be at the front of the queue to offer him regular first team football, with reports stating Clement has made the player a “priority” signing ahead of the new Scottish Premiership campaign, which begins against Hearts on August 4. The player has also spent time on loan to Birmingham City during the 22/23 campaign and is approaching the final year of his contract at Manchester United.
Ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership season, Hoops captain Callum McGregor has declared he is prepared to assist Celtic in winning their 55th league championship, thereby releasing a rallying cry for the team. Brendan Rodgers’ team, the Hoops, know they must match Old Firm rivals Rangers’ record in order to win a fourth straight championship in a year that holds great significance for the Scottish top division, and the Celtic captain is excited about the challenge. With McGregor starting in at least 50 games per season since 2017, he is probably going to be essential to their success this year.
McGregor remarked, “You look at the scenes at the end of last season.” This club makes you celebrate every trophy as though it is your first. Success is deeply engrained in the players, coaches, staff, and supporters. You worry that this could be taken away from us when things go awry, but it only makes everyone more observant. The season’s final six weeks served as a shining illustration of that. Naturally, we need to bank that experience. However, it is critical that newcomers grasp it immediately. Can I play another fifty-five games? Indeed, Aye. Without a doubt. I am eager to get started and feel fit.
