Cardiff City twist emerges over Rangers ace Todd Cantwell after transfer request
Todd Cantwell, the star player for Rangers, may end up playing for Cardiff City in the championship this summer, the Scottish Sun reports. On July 24, the newspaper made this announcement on its website following Philippe Clement’s announcement that the former Norwich man had submitted a transfer request. Until a buyer is found, the attacker will practice with the Gers’ B Team. Rangers must approve Todd Cantwell’s departure as soon as feasible. When Cantwell joined Rangers in January 2023 from Norwich, he was a bit of an uneventful transfer. Given his past success playing for teams like Bournemouth, there were some questions raised when he was acquired by the team.
However, after he managed a total of 11 goal contributions in just 20 games for the Glasgow-based outfit during the 2022/23 season, the move was seen as a stroke of genius.
However, since then, Cantwell’s behavior has come back to haunt him, since the assailant called a Giants supporter a “weapon.” Unquestionably, he had a far better second half to his 2023–24 season than he had in the first, but his performances were still largely unimpressive.
