Rangers are moving closer to bringing in a £26,000-per-week star.

According to reports, Rangers are almost certain to sign another player at Ibrox, with Philippe Clement set to receive an attacking ace this summer.

Clement planning significant changes to the Rangers Rangers were humiliated at halftime of their most recent preseason game, a 2-1 loss to League One Birmingham City, and as things stand, they have little chance of winning the Scottish Premiership again.

When questioned about prospective arrivals later, the Rangers manager acknowledged he anticipated new faces when the Scottish Premiership resumed, but he would not comment on specifics.

“I’m confident of that [new signings] because everyone is working hard for that,” Clement stated. Though there are no assurances, there’s a good chance. Three signatures are required from us, the other team, and the player.

Naturally, the goal is to improve the players who are available every day and provide them with preseason experience. Everything moves more slowly in the wake of the Euros. You can observe that in multiple teams where nothing has occurred as of yet.

Instead, the focus has been on departures. Todd Cantwell has submitted two transfer requests and is expected to be cut from the team, while Connor Goldson skipped the preseason game in an effort to finalize his departure from Ibrox.

Striker Sam Lammers, who spent the second half of the season on loan at FC Utrecht, is also expected to depart. Clement acknowledged that Lammers was not in his plans.

We were very clear a few months ago that he doesn’t fit into the plans for this season, so he has been training with the second squad. We are currently over 30, so we are unable to train with a squad of fifty.

Sam is getting closer and closer to coming up with a wise move and transferring.” However, there’s one coming up that might make a lot of people at Ibrox happy.

A Winger about to make a Rangers move This comes after Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports reported that Rangers are reportedly in talks to sign Czech winger Vaclav Cerny on a loan; the 26-year-old is “on the verge” of leaving Wolfsburg for Ibrox.

The right-winger only signed a four-year, £26,000-per-week contract with the German team last season.

However, in his debut season at Wolfsburg, he only managed four goals and started just 12 Bundesliga games. It appears that for the following season, he will be considered surplus to needs.

The former FC Twente player has been targeted by Rangers, who appear to be planning to offer the winger a season-long loan.

Despite having trouble at Wolfsburg, the winger’s ability is evident as he finished his final season for Twente with 13 goals and 11 assists. In addition, he scored six goals in his 17 international visits.

Media outlets have hailed Cerny as a potential “brilliant” signing for Rangers, drawing comparisons to Arjen Robben.

The official UEFA account has also tweeted two of Cerny’s “brilliant” goals, highlighting his ability to cut in with his left foot and find the corner.

He could also be an early favourite with Rangers fans after it emerged that he had already scored a late winner against Celtic, while playing for Ajax in 2015, to knock them out of the Europa League in the process.

Given his international pedigree with the Czech Republic and clear prodigious talent when fit and available, he could prove an excellent addition to Clement’s ranks.
