Before Liverpool’s opening match on their preseason tour, Arne Slot has been discussing the club’s transfer plans. As of now this summer, the Reds have not added any players.
Arne Slot has indicated that Liverpool would make additions shortly, but he has stressed that they must live up to the “extremely high” standards of the organization. Despite the beginning of a new era at Anfield, the Reds have not yet entered the transfer market this summer.
Naturally, Slot has replaced Jurgen Klopp as the team’s head coach. Richard Hughes has been named the team’s new sporting director, while previous transfer directors Michael Edwards and Julian Ward are back at FSG.
Nevertheless, there haven’t been many new additions—or any at all—as a result of the redesigned structure. Though it was the closest Liverpool has gotten to signing someone, they were in talks to sign Anthony Gordon earlier in the summer.
The new season at Ipswich begins on August 17; with just over three weeks to go, fans are getting a little impatient with the paucity of additions. But Slot explained why the team hasn’t made any moves ahead of the Reds’ opening game of their preseason tour of the United States against Real Betis.
Working with these players is the primary goal, Slot stated. The fact that a large number of them are still absent is a drawback. One benefit is that it allows us more time to observe the children closely.
The club has a crucial line that young players must cross. When it comes to adding new players, we have very high standards. “Obviously, Richard Hughes and I are working to make the squad better wherever we can.”
According to Lewis Steele, Slot continued to imply that his club is competitive enough to win without adding any players, but he did say that it would be shocking if no additions were made in the upcoming month.
Further confirmation that more of the team’s stars will shortly resume training was provided by the new Liverpool manager.
While Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate are scheduled to arrive later in the trip, Diogo Jota is expected to join the team in Pittsburgh prior to the Betis encounter. The remaining players are anticipated to begin practicing at the AXA practicing Centre.
