Sheffield Wednesday, Preston North End, Derby County eye Rangers winger
According to Darren Witcoop, the 26-year-old plans to leave Ibrox before the market closes next month. During his time with Glasgow, the winger has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, prompting doubts about his future. He appeared in 23 Scottish Premiership games last season, but only started eight, as the squad finished second in the table (all stats from Fbref). The player’s contract is slated to end next year, so Rangers could want to cash in now to avoid losing him for free in 2025.
This summer, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, and Derby are a few teams hoping to sign Wright. Unnamed clubs abroad will, nevertheless, compete with them for his signature. Wright might become a target, although it’s thought that all three Championship teams have other options on their transfer shortlists. Although Wright is attracting interest, there are rumors that the Owls are still chasing Karamoko Dembele of Brest.

Meanwhile, Preston have made just two new additions, including Sam Greenwood and Stefán Teitur Thórdarson.
And the Rams have brought in the likes of Ebou Adams, Kenzo Goudmijn, Ben Osborn, Corey Taylor-Blackett, Kayden Jackson and Jerry Yates as part of their business so far this transfer market.
During his time at Rangers, Wright has gained a great deal of experience competing at a high level and has even faced competition for major titles like the Premiership and Europa League. Although he hasn’t played much for the Rangers, he has the ability to play effectively in the Championship in the correct setting. Considering that he is nearing the end of his contract, he might be a relatively cheap way to try to increase a team’s offensive alternatives. However, considering the intensity of competition surrounding his signature, it is unclear where he will play football next season.
