NFL analyst has ridiculous Cowboys record prediction for 2024
While some Dallas Cowboys supporters are putting the brakes on this season, others have high expectations going into the NFL regular season. Some supporters are unsure of the team’s potential due to their lack of offseason action and the signing of an older Ezekiel Elliott, who is the team’s greatest acquisition. With an 8-9 record prediction, a USA TODAY NFL analyst believes that things will not get much better. The “lame duck campaigns” that head coach Mike McCarthy, Dak Prescott, and CeeDee Lamb are about to embark on as they approach the end of their contracts are mentioned by Nate Davis. However, after an offseason when his quarterback, Dak Prescott, and, perhaps, best player, CeeDee Lamb, are set to begin a lame-duck campaign, coach Mike McCarthy, who are all entering the final years of their deals.
“They’ll probably need McCarthy to prove this offense is more than an aerial show and new (and former) coordinator Mike Zimmer to maintain what’s been an opportunistic defense in order to survive a brutal four-game stretch that includes three opponents who were 2023 playoff teams after a Week 7 bye. It seems unreasonable to expect, especially in light of potential persistent off-field distractions.” That is painful. Prescott and McCarthy could easily leave the Cowboys at the conclusion of the season if they don’t make a deep run or miss the postseason. That would require a total reconstruction for the Cowboys in the future, particularly considering the pressing need to attend to the deals involving Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb.
And that would definitely be a possibility at 8 or 9. So let’s get comfortable and wish for success. Dallas’ 2024 campaign will begin on Sunday, September 8, when it travels to play the Cleveland Browns. For the game on FOX, Tom Brady will be hosting his first-ever broadcast.
