Cowboys legend had warning for Travis Kelce about chasing three-peat

A Hall of Fame tight end whose team failed to accomplish the feat decades ago recently issued a caution to the All-Pro player. The Jim Rome Show’s program from Monday featured an appearance by Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin. When asked if he thought the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl for the third time in a row, the three-time winner was undefeated.

Rather than responding straight, Irvin spoke anecdotally to a recent encounter he had at a Dallas Mavericks game with Kelce. Irvin remarked, “I spent some time with him.” Michael, tell me about that three-peat chase, he continued, grabbing me and giving me a firm hug. “I’ll tell you what I said to him,” Every day, dude, I said. Each and every day. I think of that one that got away when I lay my head on my pillow at night and when I wake up and clean my teeth. I reflect on that championship game in 1994. “Whatever you do, do everything you can to make that happen,” I told him.
