Morgan Whittaker is reportedly interested in playing for Rangers; the Gers have reportedly had an offer of £7 million rejected for the attacker, but a second bid may be made, according to Plymouth Argyle manager Wayne Roney, who stated that only a “crazy” offer would entice Whittaker away from the club this summer (Daily Record, 19 July).
After their 5-1 preseason victory over Cheltenham Town on July 21, Rooney discussed his position over Whittaker’s future with Plymouth Live. “As far as I’m aware,” Rooney remarked.

Igamane is a good addition [Seabstien Denis, July 5], but it seems a little unfair that the Morocco international should carry the majority of the assault for the team at such a young age.
Whittaker would be a superb addition to Philippe Clement’s ranks but after their approach was refused, it begs the issue of how much a transaction would actually cost.
This not only demonstrates how highly Plymouth regards Whittaker, but it also ought to have deterred the Glasgow-based group from attempting to make a move.
The club is reportedly preparing a better offer, but anything over £7 million seems excessive, and Whittaker would have to perform exceptionally well.
This is especially true given that Rangers-linked Lawerence Shankland would likely cost the same or even less and has a track record of scoring goals in the Scottish Premiership.
