On July 17, the Red Devils declared on their official website that McTominany, a midfielder from Scotland, will play at Murrayfield when he returns to training after competing for his nation at Euro 2024. Rangers prepare for latest pre-season test against Manchester United
Rangers’ pre-season friendly against the Red Devils was confirmed earlier this year (Rangers FC, 20 March). The showdown will take place at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, as the club continues to await their return to Ibrox.
Here, the strategy is straightforward: get ready as best you can for a challenging upcoming season. They played Ajax last weekend to start their preparations. Sadly, they lost 2-1, but at least they gained some much-needed playing time in the legs.
As we move on, the assignments will be fairly diverse. After their match against the Red Devils on Saturday afternoon, they will travel to the Midlands to play Birmingham City, a team in League One. Rangers will play one more preseason friendly against Union Berlin after that before starting their Scottish Premiership campaign by traveling to Hearts. Naturally, the goal is for the present team to demonstrate genuine promise before any prospective newcomers join the starting lineup.
