Santos announced that Alfredo Morelos had been loaned to the Colombian team

Santos announced that Alfredo Morelos had been loaned to the Colombian team Atletico Nacional, but his agent refuted the claim, setting in an odd standoff. The former Rangers forward was signed for a long time at Ibrox, but when his contract expired last summer, he was free to leave. His transfer to Pele’s former team in Brazil has been a complete bust, and he is unable to play for the team that is currently in the second division. It’s been a month since he last played.

Santos gave the green light for the hitman to return to his homeland with Atletico Nacional after they beat Athletico Junior and America de Cali to his signature on a temporary basis. The club confirmed that the 28-year-old would be heading out on a loan until the end of the year – but his agent, Martin Camano has DENIED the deal has gone through. He stated: “We are still negotiating with both clubs and Alfredo himself. Nothing is confirmed.”

Nacional have reportedly agreed to pay around 20 per cent of Morelos’ wages, but Santos are believed to want more of a salary share for their flop striker. Morelos left Colombia in 2016 when he moved from Independiente to HJK Helsinki. before joining Rangers in 2017.

In 269 games with the Rangers, he scored 124 goals before securing a trip back to South America last year. Morelos, who departed the Ibrox team after 178 league games during a six-year tenure that saw him score 124 goals overall and 78 goals in the league, will at last complete a homecoming home.
