Gary O’Neill, the manager of Wolves, is admired by the FA throughout the England job hunt.

As the hunt for a new England manager gets underway, Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has supporters within the Football Association, according to talkSPORT.

Following England’s loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, manager Gareth Southgate has resigned. The FA is currently searching for his replacement, and Mauricio Pochettino, the former manager of Chelsea, and Eddie Howe, the leader of Newcastle United, are among the many candidates who have previously been mentioned.

However, Wolves may need to exercise caution, as FA admirers of coach O’Neill exist. It has been observed that he has done excellent work at Molineux, and O’Neil would be another Englishman appointed manager.

Given the work the 41-year-old has done since taking over last year, Wolves would probably be quite hesitant to lose him.

O’Neil never received a cap for the senior team while playing for England up to the Under-21 level.

He could find it incredibly difficult to turn down the England job if it is offered to him over the coming weeks and months.
