The most recent transfer rumors are coming from Wolves, and Sheffield United could be dismantled after being demoted from the Premier League.
According to a source, Wolves may sign Anel Ahmedhodzic’s teammate as well as the Sheffield United defender, with whom they are reportedly winning the race. Wolves are in prime position to recruit £20 million-rated Ahmedhodzic, according to the Sun.
Executives at Molineux believe the 24-cap Bosnia and Herzegovina player is the “perfect man” to succeed Max Kilman, who was sent to West Ham for a reported £40 million.
According to The Sun, Ahmedhodzic would be in favor of returning to the Premier League, and the move would benefit both sides.
He would return to the English top division if Wolves were to pay the £20 million, and the Blades might use that money to bolster their playing group in an effort to put together a team that can avoid relegation from the start.
The fact that United is presently in purchase negotiations with an American consortium could be a roadblock, although Wilder could proceed with his plans if Ahmedhodzic is sold.
That Wolves might wind up paying even less than the £20m is a pleasant boost. Malmo FF is thought to be entitled to 13% of any future sales that exceed €4.5 million.
The 25-year-old, who cost £5 million to transfer from Swedish team Malmo to Yorkshire, has played 73 games in English football.
During the previous season, he made 32 appearances for Sheffield United and frequently served as captain. Not only is Anel Ahmedhodzic of Sheffield United being linked to Woves, but his midfield colleague Gustavo Hamer is also reportedly being pursued.
The same source claims that Wolves are interested in signing Hamer, who signed a £15 million contract with Coventry City last summer.
There has been no other information released other than Wolves’ interest in Hamer. The 27-year-old played in every league game for United last season, missing just two.
In addition to playing in their FA Cup and EFL Cup fixtures, where he added another goal and assist, Hamer recorded six assists and four goals in 36 games.
United would be able to demand a substantial price because the three-time Netherlands under-20 international has a contract at Bramall Lane that runs through the summer of 2027.
The Brazil-born midfielder has been in England for the past four years after spending £1.5 million to join Coventry City from PEC Zwolle. It is not yet known how much United would be able to fetch for a player of his caliber.
