Rangers transfer news bulletin as Albion Rrahmani update emerges and Cifuentes targeted by bizarre scam
Bucharest insist they have no intentions of parting with Rangers target Albion Rrahmani – despite reports linking Neil Lennon’s side with another attacking player. The Kosovo international has been touted for a switch to Ibrox all summer, with Light Blues boss Philippe Clement will on the hunt for another striker to bolster his options in the forward department. Rrahmani, 23, is said to be on a number of clubs around Europe’s radar, having netted an impressive 19 goals in 30 matches last season. Liga 1 side Rapid have been linked with a €2million (£1.7million) move for Fiorentina’s out of favour attacker Louis Munteanu, but the club’s minority shareholder Victor Angelescu has ruled out a deal for the Romanian, and is adamant they fully intend to go into the new season with Rrahmani, new signing Timotej Jambor and fellow forward Borisav Burma at the top end of the pitch. Speaking to fanatik.ro, he said: “With us, taking into account that there is a great possibility that Rrahmani will not leave, I don’t think we will go down that track again.
“We’ve already brought in a striker, Rrahmani, and we hope he stays. Burmaz remains at 100%. We’re very much covered in that post. Yes, it is a closed track, Louis Munteanu. We will not depart unless Rrahmani leaves.” Although Rangers manager Clement is eager to add to his six new arrivals this summer, the Belgian coach has revealed that players will have to move to balance the books, and that even the club’s most cherished assets come at a cost. said: “”If someone comes with the correct amount of money, we will see and discuss. But you always need to see, and then you need to replace someone and you need enough money to replace them to make it better, otherwise it is also of no use.
“It is finding a balance in that way. I think there is only one player that is irreplaceable at the moment that I don’t think a team will pay the money that he is worth, for sure, and that is Jack Butland. Everybody knows what I think about that. Everybody who is here is part of my plans. It is like that.”
