Leeds United is preparing a new offer for Oliver Skipp of Tottenham Hotspur as Glen Kamara leaves.

Glen Kamara, a midfielder for Tottenham Hotspur, is leaving Elland Road to join Ligue 1 team Rennes, while Leeds United is considering making a new approach for Oliver Skipp.

According to Planet Sport, Leeds United will make a new attempt to sign Oliver Skipp at Elland Road following Glen Kamara’s departure to join Rennes in Ligue 1.

After serving for a full year in Yorkshire, the Finnish midfielder has agreed to a deal with the French team for £8.4 million, which is a hefty profit. Kamara, 28, established himself as Leeds’ starting number eight and made 40 appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Although Kamara is a reliable and effective player, some supporters have criticized him for not doing more to help the team score goals. They believe Kamara should be an attack-oriented player in his position.

After Archie Gray left to join Tottenham Hotspur for an estimated £35 million, Kamara is the second high-profile midfield departure. Planet Sport is aware that Oliver Skipp participated in those talks, but Spurs declined to entertain an offer at this point in the transfer window.

Instead, Leeds United’s play-off run last season was made possible by the much-heralded return of Joe Rodon, thanks to Daniel Farke’s team.

With an average appearance time of thirty-five minutes, Skipp—who has appeared in at least twenty games in each of the previous three seasons—was mostly used for cameos and cover.

During the 2020–21 Championship season, the defensive midfielder was a member of Farke’s Norwich team that won promotion to the Premier League.

Even though Leeds has plenty of players in that area, Ilia Gruev is thought to be Kamara’s successor in a more advanced role, freeing up Ethan Ampadu to play in the position he prefers.

Before finalizing any agreement, Spurs are reportedly eager to find a replacement for Skipp. It is possible that he may sign a loan agreement with Leeds with the intention of moving on permanently.
