The’special’ £60 million Premier League talent is expected to be signed by Tottenham Hotspur ahead of Newcastle.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are competing against each other in the transfer market once more, and some players may have to decide between the two.

Although Pedro Neto of Wolverhampton Wanderers appears to be the more urgent target of both clubs, both are interested in Lille striker Jonathan David.

Spurs are reportedly in the lead to sign £60 million-rated Neto this summer, according to a report from Give Me Sport.

Jarrod Bowen, Noni Madueke, and Anthony Elanga are just a few of the wingers Newcastle has their eye on.

Tottenham is ahead in the chase for Pedro Neto.

Pedro Neto has been on the Magpies’ radar for some time, but there hasn’t appeared to be much of a forward movement, which implies Eddie Howe doesn’t think highly of him.

It now appears that Newcastle would need to move quickly to beat Tottenham, who can use their European qualifying as a carrot if Newcastle makes a move to sign Neto, if the Magpies are serious about making the move.

On his Seaman Says podcast, David Seaman previously called Neto a “special” player; nevertheless, it’s possible that his injury issues have prevented him from living up to that description.

Pedro Neto’s injury history is a huge red flag

It could also be that injury record that has stopped Newcastle from progressing beyond the ‘interested’ stage.

Frankly, we’d rather see us going for Jarrod Bowen, however impossible that may look.

A player that we’ve thought about, and it seems The Shields Gazette have had the same thought too, is RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo who has been outstanding at Euro 2024.

The Shields Gazette even point out that our new sporting director Paul Mitchell is the man who took Olmo to Leipzig so he could use that relationship again to Newcastle’s favour.

Olmo has a £50million release clause that was due to end the day after the Euro 2024 final, but because of Spain’s involvement will now expire on 20th according to Fabrizio Romano.

Although, we feel we may be dreaming a bit here.
