During the Wolves’ first preseason practice, Liam Keen reveals something “interesting” that Rodrigo Gomes was doing.

After seeing Rodrigo Gomes for the first time, journalist Liam Keen has shared his opinions on the player as Wolves begin their preseason.

After Tommy Doyle made his loan move to the team permanent, Rodrigo became Wolves’ second summer acquisition but first new face.

The player came from Braga, having had a very happy loan at Estoril. Last season, Rodrigo was a right wing-back. However, it’s been mentioned that the kid feels at ease playing on either side and as a winger.

A new video featuring reporters Nathan Judah and Liam Keen reporting from Wolves’ Marbella training facility was released by the E&S yesterday.

After watching the first session, Keen shared his opinions regarding Rodrigo.

The first Wolves preseason practice featured Rodrigo Gomes on the left side of the field.

Being a versatile player was one of Rodrigo’s appeals to Wolves.

He was a right wing-back for Estoril virtually all of the time. Nonetheless, he is a winger by trade and can also play on left.

Given that Gary O’Neill is rumored to desire to go to a back four, it will be fascinating to observe where he plays the majority of his minutes in 2024–2025.

Rodrigo was reportedly playing on the left during some exercises the Wolves were conducting in Marbella on Wednesday morning. “I’ll come back to Rodrigo Gomes, because it was slightly more interesting, I felt,” Keen stated (via E&S).

He is able to play both wings. He did get a lot of action on the right last season.

In actuality, he was positioning himself on the left, while (Jean-Ricner) Bellegarde was on the right.

“They were trying out different formations, sometimes with wing-backs and sometimes with forwards.

Fives and fours. It could come as a minor surprise to see him to the left. They obviously think Bellegarde is on the right track for the time being.
