After a fan fixed the Celtic star’s home, Reo Hatate shares a heartwarming Rangers moment.

The Hoops star admits the intensity and passion of the Old Firm rivalry is something special Reo Hatate acknowledges that the fervor of Rangers and Celtics supporters has amazed him.

Since moving to Parkhead from Kawasaki Frontale two and a half years ago, the Japanese midfielder has been nothing short of spectacular.

However, the 26-year-old playmaker made hints earlier this week that he would like to take on a new challenge and put himself to the test in one of the top five leagues in Europe.

After a season marred by injuries, Brendan Rodgers will be eager to hold onto the fan favorite for at least one more season.

Hatate is also aware that, wherever he finds up next, he won’t likely encounter rivalries similar to those of the Old Firm.

“The atmosphere the day before and the day after a Celtic vs Rangers match is really different,” he added in a national interview.

It’s evident that everyone is proudly applauding. Everyone is proud to be a Celtics or Rangers fan, depending on the team they support.

As an illustration, once upon a time, a Rangers fan came to fix my house. He had the Rangers insignia on his phone, so I knew. Oh, I hope this is okay, I thought to myself. “He said, ‘I’m proud of Rangers,’ after I got my house fixed.

‘But I’m rooting for you, so keep up the excellent job,’ he added. Despite their pride in their club, I believe that the followers and fans of any team are nice and compassionate.

In Glasgow, there is a strong tradition of football. I really believe thatI believe that being able to play in those stadiums and in that city right now is unique for me as a player.

I can’t compare it because I haven’t played for any other European teams, but I think Glasgow is unique.”

Hatate recounted an entirely different memory after scoring a double in his derby debut back in February 2022, even though that may have been a rare wholesome time in the Glasgow goldfish bowl.

He remembered: “I think Rangers fans set off fireworks outside the hotel probably to keep us from sleeping the night before my first derby.” The following day, I scored in the Rangers game. “I went out the next day and I got the finger from a Rangers supporter who noticed me driving. It dawned on me then that I was performing in Europe!
