Cyriel Dessers Rangers transfer chance has Cagliari ‘hungry’ for £4.5m swoop
Cagliari are reportedly “hungry” to sign Cyriel Dessers from Rangers. The Nigerian striker scored 22 goals last season while at Ibrox, despite being chastised for his profligacy in front of goal. Overall, the 29-year-old had a successful season, winning the Premier Sports Cup, but Serie A club Cagliari is now hoping to sign the attacker on a permanent basis.
Gers’ asking price is thought to be around £5 million, which may turn off some suitors, but Tuttomercato claims the club has approached to inquire about his availability and how much it would cost.
According to the same publication, the fee could be high for the Italian club, but there may be wiggle room if the Light Blues are willing to negotiate. Football Italia also claims there is a “hunger” for the deal, which might include a loan with a buy obligation. It’s evident that manager Philippe Clement is pushing for a younger team during the makeover, and the signing of 21-year-old Hamza Igamane might mean the end of Dessers’ time in Glasgow.
