ARSENAL’S FIRST OFFER FOR BENTLEY REJECTED BY WOLVES

Arsenal has reportedly increased their interest in Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley by putting in a preliminary bid for the 30-year-old, according to The Athletic.

Although the Molineux team turned down the offer, it is anticipated that the Gunners would pursue the player since they are eager to have him in their lineup for the next US tour.

Karl Hein is currently the only senior goalkeeper available for Monday’s formal start of preseason training, and he was on the verge of leaving the team as a free agency before agreeing to fresh terms.

Later in the transfer window, the Estonian international is anticipated to depart the team on loan, with Bentley prepared to take his position.

After completing the permanent signing of David Raya, Arsenal is likely to find a replacement for Aaron Ramsdale in the event that the England international decides he does not want to start the upcoming season on the bench.

Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin and Espanyol’s Joan Garcia have been named as possibilities. Lucas Nygaard has added strength to the youth levels.

Bentley was signed by Arsenal for seven years as a young player and has a close relationship with Iñaki Caña, the goalkeeper coach for the first team, and Terry Mason, his assistant.

He had met the latter at Southend and the former while he was employed at Brentford.

Although Bentley hasn’t disclosed his asking price yet, you have to believe it won’t be too expensive considering he joined Wolves on a free deal 18 months ago and hasn’t played many Premier League games.

There have been rumors circulating since last night suggesting that Lazio is considering signing Nuno Tavares.

Gianluca Di Marzio is rumored to have stated that the Serie A team may reach €7 million, which is marginally less than what Arsenal is seeking.

This week, the Portuguese left-back stated that while he hopes to give it his all when preseason training at London Colney begins, he acknowledges that his future at the Emirates isn’t truly in his hands.
