Wolves are up against Crystal Palace and Celtic in a seven-team transfer battle.

Wolves are up against a tough transfer fight that includes Celtic, Crystal Palace, and four more teams.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and six other teams are reportedly in the running to capture Queens Park Rangers defender Jake Clarke-Salter this summer.

The club captain, Maximilian Kilman, just left to rejoin Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United, therefore the Old Gold are now searching for a new center-back.

Incredibly, the transaction raised £45 million, giving Gary O’Neil ample funds to find a replacement.

According to Football Insider Because Wolves have a lot of respect for the former Chelsea player, Clarke-Salter is highly regarded on the shortlist.

Although several other teams have reportedly done the same, it is alleged that Wanderers dispatched scouts to observe Clarke-Salter multiple times during the previous campaign.

Clarke-Salter has drawn interest from AFC Bournemouth, Burnley, Celtic, Crystal Palace, Stoke City, and Ipswich Town.

A bid of between £5-7 million, depending on the terms, would be sufficient to secure the defender’s services, according to a May Telegraph story.

Clarke-Salter, who represented England Under-21 twelve times, was a Chelsea player until July 2022, when he joined QPR.

The 26-year-old didn’t actually play for the Blues very often at the senior level; instead, he advanced through loan stints at Sunderland, Vitesse, Birmingham City, Coventry City, and Bristol Rovers.

With 177 appearances overall, 118 of them in the Championship, Clarke-Salter is a seasoned veteran.

He hasn’t yet been put to the test in the Premier League, but at the asking price, it might be a wonderful deal, and there’s still plenty of untapped potential.
