Wolves and Nottingham have Youte Kinkoue in their sights as a potential acquisition.

According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest and Wolves are preparing deals for Etienne Youte Kinkoue, the defender for Le Havre.

The Ligue 1 club’s contract with the central defender is about to expire, and sources claim he may be purchased for as cheap as £7 million.

Because of his attention-grabbing exploits for Le Havre previous season, Kinkoue has a high reputation in France.

The 22-year-old is very high on both Premier League clubs’ wish lists as they look to bolster their defenses this summer.

The two clubs will both have to push to secure his signature in this window as they attempt to lure the defender to the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest and Wolves could benefit from his defensive qualities

Last season, Nottingham and Wolves were two of the weakest teams in the Premier League from a defensive perspective.

It’s crucial for every club because only the three demoted teams have worse goal differentials than them.

Wolves allowed in 65 goals last season, while Nottingham gave up 67, and both managers are looking to improve that number for the current campaign.

Playing 22 games for Le Havre in Ligue 1 last season, Kinkoue eventually established himself as a mainstay in the starting lineup.

The youthful defender has participated in 44 games in Primavera 1 over his career, giving him a plenty of experience in the league.
