Ex-Rangers ace ‘discovers fate’ under Jose Mourinho

He started only nine matches for Fenerbahce last season and was rapidly pushed out of the first-team picture by then-manager Ismail Kartal. Mourinho made headlines this summer when he landed in Turkey for the next step in his dazzling managerial career. Since returning to pre-season last week, the Portuguese coach has had firsthand experience with Kent in training.
It seems that has not been enough to convince the Special One that Kent should remain as part of his squad for the upcoming campaign, though.
Turkish outlet According to Sabah, Mourinho plans to reduce the number of foreign players in his roster from 15 to nine. This means that six players, including Kent, will be dismissed. The number of foreign players allowed in each top-flight league squad has been decreased from 14 to 12. According to the source, Kent, Luan Peres, Rade Krunic, Miha Zajc, Miguel Crespo, and Joao Pedro will be permitted to depart. The big stars in Fenerbahce’s lineup include Dominik Livakovic, Dusan Tadic, and Edin Dzeko. The six out-of-favour players have all been called up to the team’s pre-season camp in Austria this month. Rumours have recently appeared online that a return to Rangers may be on the cards.
