Spurs are the front-runners for a €30 million deal; they “want to get ahead of everyone” in signing.

On June 19, we reported on rumors from Italy that Tottenham Hotspur could compete with Juventus for Youssouf Fofana of AS Monaco during the summer transfer window.

With one year remaining on his contract, the midfield player’s future appears to be separate from the Ligue 1 team.

Several European teams, notably Tottenham and the Serie A team, have taken notice of Fofana’s performances during his 37 appearances in the previous season.

Spurs are the “favourite” to recruit the 25-year-old this summer, according to Tutto Juve.

Arsenal, Manchester United and the Turin club have also shown interest in the France international.

It’s claimed Ange Postecoglou’s side ‘want to get ahead of everyone’ in the race to secure his services. The report further adds Tottenham ‘could spend €30m’ to bring the player to London.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso have deals expiring in 2025, and are expected to leave Spurs after being restricted to limited playing time last season. Fofana can be used as a defensive midfielder and in the middle of the pitch.

His versatility can provide Postecoglou more options if his side were to sign him this summer.
