Heat Lands $215 Million Star for Herro in a Potential Blockbuster NBA Trade

Jimmy Butler’s future is the main topic of discussion this summer as the Miami Heat prepare to make a number of roster decisions this offseason.

Miami has the opportunity to consider moves while holding Butler.

The Heat would sign Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young, according to the most recent Bleacher Report proposal. The Hawks could be headed towards a rebuild after dealing Dejounte Murray following the NBA draft.

As part of the blockbuster deal, the Heat are sending the Hawks two future first round picks (2029, 2031) and Miami is sending Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, and Nikola Jovic to Atlanta for Young.

The Bleacher Report analyst broke down possible NBA deals that might occur before free agency in the June 29, 2024, live broadcast. “You give up Tyler Herro, who I think goes in any star deal.

He’s just the piece waiting to be moved.”

You give up the Hawks a shooter who they might be able to flip again and you give up Duncan, who brings in the big bucks.

With Jimmy Butler’s future in doubt, Jovic is a youthful talent followed by two intriguing first-round selections.

On a four-year, $120 million contract, Heat guard Tyler Herro still has three seasons left.

With three seasons remaining on Herro’s four-year, $120 million contract, Miami might be ready to let go.

Herro has a substantial 2024–2025 cap hit of $29 million.

The Hawks haven’t been able to get Young in a deal that has inspired the front staff to make a trade thus far.

Herro gives Atlanta at least a legitimate scorer, but the guard has struggled with injuries lately.

It’s conceivable that the Hawks would rather have these potential draft selections in 2029 than later.

Herro played in just 42 games last season for Miami. The guard averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per contest while shooting 39.6% from long range in these limited appearances last season.
