“Earlier than wanted,” Sead Haksabanovic departs Celtic to sign with Malmo.

The winger had his say after agreeing a move to Sweden.

Sead Haksabanovic, who left Celtic to play for Malmo in Sweden, stated that “other people had another opinion” even though he didn’t want to leave the Scottish champions.

After spending the previous season on loan at Stoke, Haksabanovic has committed to Malmo for four years, and he may start for them against Halmstad in early July.

The 25-year-old Swedish-born international for Montenegro said on Malmo’s official website that he was excited to be joining the greatest club in his home nation and that they “clicked immediately” when transfer talks started.

However, he made it plain in a farewell address to Celtic supporters that he hadn’t looked for a move and would have been content to try and prolong his career at Parkhead, but he had been informed that he wasn’t included in the future plans.

My time at Celtic has ended earlier than I had anticipated, wanted, or thought, but I have to accept that other people have different opinions.

Haksabanovic posted a message on Instagram. “We created some wonderful memories together and will always have affection for Celtic.

Good luck, and Celtic are f***ing big everywhere they go. That’s why I want to congratulate the players, the staff, and the supporters because that is really what Celtic is about.

Best wishes for the future. The winger was utilized frequently by manager Ange Postecoglou after joining Celtic from Rubin Kazan in August 2022, even though he was never able to secure a starting position.

After Brendan Rodgers was named Postecoglou’s replacement, Haksabanovc was sent on loan to Stoke City, where he played the previous season.
