Wolves have scouted prospective Max Kilman replacement for two seasons; he is a bargain.

Wolves have apparently been looking for a player to replace Max Kilman for two seasons. Speculation regarding the Molineux skipper persists, with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly pursuing him.

West Ham United and Newcastle United are both alleged to have failed bids. West Ham offered £25 million, and Newcastle allegedly offered cash plus a player, believed to be Elliot Anderson. Wolves have held firm on the 27-year-old, demanding roughly £45 million.

However, Wolves are aware that they will face increased pressure to retain the star, therefore they have identified at least one prospective successor. Nico Elvedi has been on their radar for quite some time.

Wolves ‘clued up’ on Nico Elvedi after scouting him for two seasons

According to Give Me Sport, Wolves are prepared to re-sign Borussia Monchengladbach defender Nico Elvedi if Kilman departs the club. Last summer, the club targeted the Switzerland international. In the end, the Wolves decided to sign Santi Bueno.

Wolves are thought to have anticipated a high level of interest in Kilman, therefore they have spent a significant amount of time scouting Elvedi and are ‘clued up’ on the player.

Elvedi’s durability is reportedly one of the reasons he is being evaluated.

Kilman appeared in every Premier League game for Wolves last season.

Elvedi could be a great addition

Wolves are once again linked with Elvedi, but it appears that the club will only consider him if Kilman leaves.

Currently, it appears that he is likely to go. At least four Premier League clubs have expressed interest in the player, and it is feasible that Wolves’ asking price may be met.

Gladbach finished 14th in the Bundesliga last season, surrendering 67 goals in 34 league games, trailing only bottom club Darmstadt and Bochum.

According to WhoScored, Elvedi was Gladbach’s sixth-highest rated player, with an 88% pass completion percentage.

Elvedi is expected to cost roughly £8 million, making him a good bargain.
