The recently retired keeper is already eyeing an emotional return to Celtic Park
Joe Hart has expressed his desire to join the GREEN BRIGADE after being blown away by his unique Celtic send-off. Hart, 37, enjoyed a fairytale finale to his amazing career as he helped Celtic win the league and Scottish Cup double.
The ex-Manchester City hero retired after three trophy-laden years in Glasgow and was caught aback by the Parkhead faithful’s adoration in his final months as a footballer.
Emotional Hart choked up when the Hoops fans unveiled a big image of the goalie with the words “Super Joe” on trophy day, and 60,000 fans sang his name as he left Celtic Park with three titles, two Scottish Cups, and two League Cups.
Hart confesses he treasured his special link with the green-and-white faithful and intends to return to the North Curve area for a game in the near future.
On the High-Performance podcast, Hart reflected on his incredible departure, saying, “I didn’t expect anything.
“I had already received more than I could have wished for in terms of treatment, kind words, and the way my family was treated. Then I came out for the second half, and I adored that corner, The Green Brigade.
The energy emanating from that corner. That is me. I’d gladly be in there, and I will be in there at some time in my life, because of the throb and enthusiasm for the club.” When asked how he felt when he saw the big banner tribute, he replied: “Mad. It scared me a little. I am not a fearful guy, either. I constantly think, “Why not? Let’s go.”
. It simply made me feel like there are a lot of positive things going on. I was terrified yet also elated.
We had a trophy lift, family on the field, and the club celebrated properly.
I’ve won 12 leagues in the last 13 years, and every single trophy is celebrated as if it were everything, which I adore about this area. That was a memorable day that will stay with me forever.
Hart’s mind was made up in February when he declared to the public that he will retire at the end of the campaign. However, the renowned goalkeeper admits he had a change of heart after the club’s media department proposed a special night of appreciation to commemorate his 20-year career.
He continued, “I need to do something extremely distinctive since football is a fast business. I informed a very exceptional football club that I wanted to retire with them because I adored them more than anything else in sport.
I wanted to end strong, so I got into a fantastic flow, and the team clicked. “The energy around the club, no matter how many titles they win, is incredible when you’re playing well.
The drums were beating, the fans were singing, the flares were going off, and it was simply an awesome experience.
And then they asked me to do a night with Joe Hart, to which I instantly declined because I had stated that when I decided to retire, I did not want to talk about it; I wanted to do what I needed to do because the team came first. “Then I said, you know what? Discard that.
Were you willing to do that for me? That’s just stunning. I’m not comfortable doing it, but I’m going to do it since you’ve asked me to do something special.”
