Newcastle plans to make a bid of up to £60 million for the “special” Wolves player.

Wolverhampton Wanderers rejected Newcastle United’s bid for one player this weekend; nevertheless, the Midlands club is expected to receive a second offer for a player from Newcastle United.

According to reports on Saturday, Wolves turned down an offer from Newcastle for defender Max Kilman that included money and a player—possibly Elliot Anderson—but Wolves rejected the proposal.

Kilman isn’t the only Wolves player the Magpies have their eye on, however it’s possible they’ll return with a stronger offer.

Since Pedro Neto is valued at £60 million and has been a target for the Magpies for some time, HITC believes that during the Kilman conversation, Wolves was also questioned about Neto’s status.

Eddie Howe is still partial to Pedro Neto. Despite coming off the bench in each of Portugal’s opening two games in the tournament, the 24-year-old is a member of the Euro 2024 team.

Although Neto is a tremendous talent and was only able to play in 20 Premier League games last season owing to injury, former England goalie David Seamen praised him as “special” on his Seaman Says podcast.

Nevertheless, he did accomplish two goals and nine assists in those contests. With injuries being a major problem, Neto only managed to make 18 appearances and provide one assist in the previous season.

The reason Newcastle supporters are hesitant to recruit Neto, especially at the reported £60 million price tag, is his injury history.

Why are players who are prone to injuries our focus? We are perplexed that, after such a season marred by injuries, our main targets appear to be players with patchy injury histories, such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neto.

I guess we have to trust the process, but eventually you have to ask yourself what the process actually is.

If we could ensure Calvert-Lewin and Neto’s fitness, they would both be excellent additions to the team, but considering their recent season-to-season records, we’re cautious, to put it mildly.

To be fair, Calvert-Lewin did manage to play in 32 Premier League games last season, but in the middle of the campaign, he went an incredible 18 games without scoring a goal.
