Talented Rangers attacker joins SPFL club after Ibrox decision as Celtic star drops transfer hint

Scotland is one match away from potentially sealing a place in the Euro 2024 knockout stages, but they must give their all in their match against Hungary on Sunday. After losing to Germany and drawing with Switzerland, the Scots have a lot of work to do in Stuttgart, but the travelling Tartan Army has been there for them the entire time. As we prepare for Scotland’s final group stage games, let’s take a look at the Scottish Premiership and the most recent transfer rumors, with the summer window now open for business.

Rangers youngster Arron Lyall has officially signed with Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton for the 2024/25 season, subject to SFA approval. After his contract at Ibrox expired, the 20-year-old agreed to a one-year deal at Cappielow Park.

Lyall impressed for Rangers’ B team, scoring 15 goals in 41 games, but he was unable to break through to the senior squad. He was named to the bench multiple times but only saw action once, in a cameo against Hibs last May. The teenager can play on either the wing or in midfield and will want to earn more valuable experience after his switch. Lyall has previously spent time on loan with Inverness CT and Airdrieonians.

Morton manager Dougie Imrie is a long-standing fan of Lyall’s and he expressed his delight over finally getting a deal over the line with the 20-year-old.

“Arron is an exceptionally talented young player with a lot of skill and potential. He earned vital Championship experience last season, and his playstyle will thrill supporters when he plays; I’m delighted that he has consented to join Greenock Morton,” he said on the club’s website. “I’ve been tracking Arron for a number of years now and I’m delighted to finally secure his signature.” Celtic star gives a transfer hint. When asked about his future plans, Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi responded coyly. The Japanese international has been linked with a return to the J1 League, with Urawa Red Diamonds reportedly offering a’mega-money deal’ to join him this summer.
