Max Kilman, a defender for Wolves, is offered by Newcastle United in exchange for a player and cash.

Wolves have turned down an offer from Newcastle that included cash and homegrown midfielder Elliot Anderson.

Max Kilman, a center-back for Wolves, is the target of a cash-plus-player bid from Newcastle United as Eddie Howe steps up his summer hiring campaign.

According to Telegraph Sport, Wolves turned down an offer from Newcastle that included cash and homegrown midfielder Elliot Anderson.

West Ham is also interested in Kilman; on Friday, former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui’s £25 million deal was rejected.

Kilman is reportedly the target of Newcastle, who will need to up their offer if they are to get him. It is understood that Newcastle made a play for Kilman within the last 24 hours.

The 21-year-old Anderson is reportedly someone that United manager Steve Howe would be reluctant to lose, but Wolves are not interested in the deal as it stands.

Kilman, 27, has been a constant for Gary O’Neil during the previous season and has recently been on the outside looking in for the England team.

The former Maidenhead defender is still on Manchester United’s long list of possible targets, and they may make a bid during this transfer window.

In contrast to last summer, Wolves are not under any financial pressure to raise funds, but they may still require a substantial sale in order to enable O’Neil to bolster his team.

Kilman was enticed by Wolves to sign a new, long-term contract after the Italian team made an offer of almost £30 million for him last year.

The club captain is valued at more than £40 million, but the price is complex since, when he was sold in 2018 for just £40,000, non-league Maidenhead negotiated a sizable sell-on clause of between 15 to 20 percent.
