After admitting to leaving Ibrox, the £3 million Rangers star positions himself in a shop window for Euro 2024.

Ianis Hagi appeared set for greatness for a short while during his Rangers career.

One of Europe’s most promising young players in the past, Rangers pulled off a major coup in January 2020 when they signed the youngster on loan from KRC Genk.

Ianis Hagi showed us that he had loads of talent when we defeated Braga in the Europa League, and a few months later we signed a £3 million permanent transfer.

A season and fifty-five medals later, Ianis Hagi was starting to show himself as a crucial component of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox puzzle.

However, Hagi never fully recovered at Rangers after tragedy struck in the form of a cruciate ligament injury.

After spending the previous season on loan at Alavés in Spain, the playmaker’s future is undoubtedly uncertain, and as a result, the 25-year-old has begun to showcase himself in the Euro 2024 shop window.

Hagi plays in Romania romp

Ianis Hagi is of course the son of legendary Romanian playmaker Gheorghe Hagi.

As a result, it is inscribed in the football stars that Romania’s attacking midfielder will participate in Euro 2024 this summer.

Even less playing time in Spain wasn’t going to stop a call-up after scoring the game-winning goal that sent the country to Germany—a fairytale story following the Rangers star’s injury troubles.

Now, Hagi has just entered the game after coming off the bench as Romania, an amazing team, thrashes Ukraine 3-0 to start their first European tournament since 2016.

Romania’s first goals came from Nicolae Stanciu in the first half, and their second goals came from Denis Dragus and Razvan Marin.

Ianis Hagi came on for Denis Man just after the hour mark and was spotted leading the celebrations come full-time.

Rangers future undecided

The Euro 2024 appearance comes after Ianis Hagi cast doubts over his Rangers future this summer.

Insisting that his full focus is on Romania duties, the situation surrounding Hagi remains unclear despite previous suggestions that he’d be returning to Rangers.

There is much debate in Ibrox circles regarding Ianis’s future but for the time being, the playmaker cannot definitively say if he’ll be back at Rangers or not after the tournament in Germany.

At the beginning of June, Hagi declared, “My focus is on the Euros.” “I spoke with my representatives, and they are under a lot of pressure.

“They are aware of my goals for the future; this summer is significant for me in a number of ways. I let them know what I wanted before to joining the national squad.

“I want them to put in as much effort as they can to find the ideal group and management for me. “I am unsure of my plans; I might be at Rangers or somewhere else. My agents hold the key to my future.

With 99 total appearances, Ianis Hagi has contributed 21 assists and 16 goals for the Rangers. Additionally, the playmaker has five goals and 36 caps with the Romanian national team.
