Will Rangers and Philippe Clement sign Hamza Igamane during the summer transfer window?
The Daily Record reports that Rangers will announce the signing of Hamza Igamane at Ibrox in the coming days. The publication stated on its website on Sunday (16 June) that the Light Blues have agreed to a £1.7 million deal to bring the 21-year-old forward to Glasgow this summer, with an announcement expected soon. 0:00 / 0:00 Fluid logo Despite the fact that the two clubs have previously agreed on a fee, the FAR Rabat forward must pass a physical before completing his transfer, and he has missed his team’s most recent games due to injury.
A new striker has been top of many supporters’ shopping lists for much of the Scottish Premiership season and while few fans would have earmarked Iagame as a potential target, he appears to fit the bill for the Gers.
The Moroccan forward is viewed as one of his country’s most promising players and while he may be unproven at the top level, he has always shown through his short career so far that he knows where the net is.
While a £1.7 million fee isn’t tremendous, it’s a respectable amount of money for the Gers to spend on just one player. Philippe Clement and his recruitment team must be expecting the teenage striker to hit the ground running and propel them to victory.
Hopefully, the 21-year-old’s ailment will not cause any issues during his physical, allowing him to go through the motions without jeopardizing his move. It would be disastrous for everyone concerned if this agreement went through now. Fingers crossed that the announcement will come from Ibrox in the next days as expected.
