Swiss legend in national team blunder claim over ex-Rangers star
Swiss great Kubilay Turkyilmaz believes they erred by not bringing former Rangers attacker Cedric Itten to the Euros. The Swiss meet the Hungarians today in Scotland’s group and will be looking to get off to a good start before facing the Scots in Cologne. But Turkyilmaz, Switzerland’s all-time leading goalscorer with 34 in 64 appearances, can’t believe they didn’t put former Ibrox failure Itten in their team after he helped Young Boys win the Swiss title this season.
He said, “I’m amazed we left Cedric Itten at home. He had another successful season, scoring five goals in 12 international games for Switzerland. “Who will score goals for us? That is my concern. “I can only hope.”
“I can only hope the defenders and midfielders chip in with some goals.”I believe our team lacks predatory strikers, which is a serious issue.The Swiss League has too many strikers, which has spread to the national team.
