A “really good” Euro 2024 striker might be signed by Celtic on a cheap contract in January.

The Celtic scouting staff must be closely monitoring the competition for any possible players who may emerge, especially with Euro 2024 starting on Friday night.

Following the revelation of yesterday, Brendan Rodgers has already been associated with two players who are participating in the tournament:

Martin Dubravka of Newcastle United and Flavius Daniliuc, a defender for Salernitana.

It appears, therefore, that Celtic are already being linked to players who are traveling to Germany this week, even in advance of the major tournament kickoff.

After an update on an international striker that Celtic is reportedly keeping an eye on surfaced last night, it appears that those connections will indeed continue.

When will Tommy Conway be acquired by Celtic? Tommy Conway of Bristol City is poised to go after turning down a new contract with the Ashton Gate club, as we discussed yesterday.

And now, the Daily Record claims that Celtic will move forward in January—but only if he chooses to extend his contract.

Conway’s contract expires at the conclusion of the following season, and because of cross-border transfer regulations, Brendan Rodgers may be able to sign him for as little as £300,000 in compensation.

Conway has been called “very good” by current manager Liam Manning.

After Bristol City’s “gifted” striker, Conway was touted to sign with Celtic back in April by Rotherham boss Steve Evans.

Due to his 12-goal season and Lyndon Dykes’ injury, Conway was added to Steve Clarke’s Euro 2024 squad after the fact, and he has since risen to prominence. For Celtic, that presents a difficulty.

Should the 21-year-old play well in the competition and attract interest from other clubs, many would be eager to sign him away from the Championship team and ruin Celtic’s hopes of landing a good deal, even if the club decides to hold off on moving forward until January.
