Rangers confirm pre-season friendlies against Birmingham and Union Berlin, as Philippe Clement travels Dutch for training camp.

Rangers will meet English club Birmingham City in a Trevor Francis memorial match as part of their pre-season preparations, while Philippe Clement’s team will also face Union Berlin from the German Bundesliga. Last month, Record Sport exclusively revealed that Rangers were planning a trip to St Andrews, with Birmingham City eager to schedule a game against one of Francis’ previous clubs following his death last year. The game takes place on July 24, the first anniversary of his death, and begins at 7.45pm at St Andrew’s.

Rangers meet Union Berlin in the German capital three days later, with a 5 p.m. local time kickoff. Last season, the Germans played in the Champions League, and the game was just a week ahead of the big Scottish Premiership kick off, takes place in the Stadion An deal Alten Forsterei.

The two games join the highly anticipated friendly versus Manchester United at Murrayfield on Saturday, July 20. Rangers have also announced that they will fly to Holland for a training camp on July 7, with the players returning to training on June 24.
